Hope's Mission to the Philippines from Beginning to End

February 27, 2013
So as most of our close family and friends know, Hope was called on an LDS Mission to the Loaog, Philippines Mission, she received her call last Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, and she leaves for the Missionary Training Center on April 10, 2013.
I decided to start this blog from one of my friends who is also doing a blog on her son, on his mission, I thought that It would be a great place to put things and share with all of you, my thoughts and basically track her mission from beginning to end.
When President Monson announced the age change at the last General Conference, I was so excited, I spoke with Hope about it, and she said that a Mission just was something she did not want to do, and I respected that.
So October rolls around, November rolls around, December rolls around, and then early January I asked her from a scale of 1-10 how do you feel about a mission? I then added my two bits and said this "I bet you are at a 2 or 3" and then I walked out of the room, I didn't wait for her response. Later that day or week she announced to me that when I asked her the mission question, she was going to say an 8, and it was something that she was seriously thinking about doing, but instead after my smart allec comment to her, she decided to keep it to herself for a couple of days, What can I say, I deserved it!
So the first part of January, she says to me, I need to meet with the bishop, and get things rolling for my mission! Our family was so excited for her, and I could see the excitement in her eyes.
It didn't take her long to get all of her missionary paperwork together, and then on February 6, she met with our Stake President, and he submitted her missionary paper work that evening from his computer, and 2 weeks later she received her mission call.
I would just like to add a little something about my daughter, It has been amazing to watch her quiet transformation, what a blessing it has been as her Mother to watch this. I really can't explain, but Hope's whole person has changed, I hope that makes sense.
That is all I have for tight now, I am still trying to figure out how to download video of her mission call, and when I figure it out, it will be on this to view.
